Anderson educators teach “BE MORE”

Teachers at Anderson recently participated in a staff development showing many ways to incorporate fruits and vegetables into their curriculums. This is part of an effort of UT Extension office’s “BE MORE” campaign that is through the C3 healthy living grant and the Health Department’s 1305 grant. Coordinated School Health, as well as the School Nutrition program, partner with these organizations to help schools with activities that will increase fruit and vegetable knowledge and consumption. Marci Hethmon and Bonnie Hines brought a really cute program from Knoxville to show teachers how they can incorporate fruits and vegetables into the school day. Teachers were really creative with the activities they thought up and shared with each other … and Anderson students benefit from all these healthy fun activities!
