On Saturday, May 20, 198 Haywood High School seniors walked across the stage in the HHS gymnasium to receive their high school diplomas. Quintavious Toliver, senior class treasurer, gave the opening remarks. Vice president Mary-Wyatt Pettigrew introduced the platform guests, and Superintendent Teresa Russell spoke to the gym full of family and friends of the graduates. Guest speaker was Andrea Johnson, CEO Golden Circle Insurance Agency. Salutatorian Felescia Sanders spoke to her classmates, followed by Valedictorian Elliot Garrett. HHS Principal Dr. Jerry Pyron presented the diplomas, and the senior glass president Mikayla Flagg gave the closing remarks. The HHS band and Show Choir provided entertainment for the ceremony.

The Awards and Scholarship Ceremony was held on Friday night, preceding the graduation, and as a class, if the students keep their grades up and remain eligible to renew their college and lottery scholarships for four years, the class received a total of $2,712,574 to help further their education.
