Jamirah Shutes to be a Tiger

Stand-out Haywood High School basketball player Jamirah Shutes signed on Wednesday, November 8, to play for the University of Memphis. She had a host of fellow players, coaches, family, friends and school officials there to support her as she signed for the U of M athletic scholarship.

Shutes, a senior and six-year player in Haywood County Schools, plays guard and last year averaged 25 points per game. She was named to the All-District and All-Region teams as Most Valuable Player, and to the All-State team.
