HHS Rounds Out Administrative Team

Haywood County Schools is excited to welcome Brett Jones as Assistant Principal at Haywood High School.  Brett earned his Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin.  In December of 2021, Brett completed his Master of Science degree in Education with an emphasis in Educational Leadership.  

With 14 years of classroom teaching, Brett brings a plethora of experience to his new role in administration.  Throughout the course of his teaching career, Brett held various instructional leadership roles such as grade level chairperson, RTI-B2 team member, and new teacher mentor.  

The majority of Brett’s career has been spent teaching in the Shelby County School System.  While in SCSS, he taught Social Studies on the middle school level.  He is highly skilled at building relationships with students and is a firm believer in restorative practices when it comes addressing student behavior through intentional and respectful conversations.  

“We are very excited for Brett to join our team at Haywood High School.  His skills in relationship-building with students will fit nicely within the culture of Haywood High School, and his focus on restorative practices will connect seamlessly with our topics in our advisory program,” Haywood High School principal, Brittany Avent said.
