New Assistant Principal Named at HHS
Haywood County Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Shontaviar (Shon) Beasley as an Assistant Principal at Haywood High School. Shon brings 18 years of educational experience in various teaching and administrative roles to his new position as Assistant Principal.
Shon is a graduate of Lane College, where he received his Bachelor’s of Arts in History. He also obtained his Master’s of Arts in Education from Bethel University and is currently enrolled in post-graduate classes at Liberty University.
Shon comes to Haywood County Schools from the Jackson-Madison County School System where he served in several different administrative and teaching capacities.
Most recently, Shon was a history teacher and African-American studies teacher at Jackson Central-Merry High School where he also served as a Learning Coach. Prior to his tenure at JCM, Shon was the interim principal at Parkview Learning Center-Alternative School in Jackson. He also served as an interim assistant principal, instructional coach, and history chairperson at different points during his time in Jackson.
“We are excited to have Shon join our team at Haywood High School. He will help reinforce our culture of respect while building positive relationships with our students. He will also provide academic and behavioral support for our teachers and staff,” said Haywood High School principal, Brittany Avent.
