New Instructional Facilitator Named at HMS

Chissolssi Jones has been named the new Instructional Facilitator at Haywood Middle School.  In this role, Chissolssi will be managing academic intervention, analyzing data in order to make sure students are progressing at an appropriate rate, and leading data team meetings with teachers in order to support learning.

Chissolssi is a native of Brownsville, and a Haywood High School graduate.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a master’s degree in Instructional Curriculum and Leadership from the University of Memphis.  Chissolssi has served in Haywood County Schools for a total of sixteen years.  She worked with kindergarten students as a teacher assistant at Anderson Early Childhood Center.  For the past five years, she has taught seventh grade English/Language Arts at Haywood Middle School where she was also a teacher leader, mentor, and a Beta Club sponsor.  

Her recognitions and awards include being named the 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year, District Teacher of the Year for Grades 5-8, an Edu 20/20 Teacher Spotlight, and WBBJ Educator of the Week.  Chissolssi is also a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society of Educators.  She looks forward to her new role as instructional facilitator and is excited about the opportunity to support teachers as well as students.
