The Haywood High School Academic Decathlon team participated in the state competition in late February and had an incredibly successful showing.  The HHS team was awarded a total of 33 medals and 2 plaques including having the second overall finish in the scholastic division by Mahek Bhakta.  The team was only 147 points shy of third place overall which would have qualified the team for the national competition.  A big congratulations to our Academic Decathlon team and their coach, Rachel Savage.
