February 5 was the date for Anderson’s 3rd Annual Sweetheart dance and carnival, hosted by UT Extension office’s Family Resource Center’s Ragan Baumheckel and Peggy Jackson. The theme this year was, “Fall in Love with Reading.” Students were beautiful in their best dresses and suits. There were lots of “learning game” booths that were all geared toward literacy. UT Extension office’s Tennille Short was the photographer of the evening, taking pictures of all the students in their finery. The Health Department had a table teaching about “heart healthy” foods and how to take care of your teeth after eating sweets. Coordinated School Health had a table with materials teaching how to make heart healthy snacks. There was lots of dancing, and delicious snacks were served to all. The night was a huge success! We can’t wait until next year!
