Cedric Bunch Named New Director at SOA

Haywood County Schools is excited to announce that Cedric Bunch will be the new director at the Student Options Academy.  Cedric is a lifelong resident of Haywood County and has directed the 21st Century after school program in HCS for the last seven years.  In that role, Cedric oversaw budgeting for the program, supervision of site coordinators and teachers, hiring and evaluating staff, and creating programs for student success.

With six years of administrative experience in HCS and over four years of managerial experience in the corporate world, Cedric will bring essential leadership skills that will enable the SOA to continue to provide innovative options for students and families in Haywood County.

Along with directing the after school program, Cedric was most recently a second grade teacher at Haywood Elementary School.

“Cedric’s experience in leading the 21st Century program and his experience as a classroom teacher have prepared him well for this role.  His active involvement in the community will also be advantageous in this role and allow him to connect students with opportunities within the community,” said HCS superintendent Joey Hassell.
