Haywood County Schools Spelling Bee
Recently the Haywood Schools County-wide Spelling Bee was held at the Central office. The Haywood County Schools System Spelling Bee Winner is Ty Burch, and Keneisha Whitmore is the runner-up. Our winner will represent Haywood County in the Mid-South Spelling Bee, sponsored by The Commercial Appeal on Saturday, March 3, at 9 a.m. at the Al Chymia Shrine Center in Memphis. The winner of the Mid-South Bee will represent the Mid-South at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington this May.
Haywood Junior High School students who competed in the Spelling Bee are: Will Chapman, Quinton Douglas, Keneisha Whitmore, Katie Ellington, Elliot Garrett and Ty Burch.
Sunny Hill students who competed in the Spelling Bee this year are: Amelya Cooper, Brierra Starks, Kylon Washington, Macy Reed, Bryce Currie, Carlyle Clagg, Mikala Leath, Kennedy Blue, Jataz Gray, Brandy Zamudio and Lena Smith.
