HMS cross country in full swing
Haywood Middle School boys cross country is off to leaps and bounds for the fall 2021 season. Under the direction of avid runner and sixth-grade social studies teacher Tom Orr, the team (pictured above L-R) is comprised of Nolan Smith, Wyatt Poole, Hamilton Jenkins, Lee Stokely, Joshua Martin, Austin Tucker, Will Davis and Nate Williams (not pictured). The team’s impressive schedule includes 11 regular meets. One of particular note is the home competition HMS is hosting on September 21 on the grounds of Serendipity, the former Brownsville Country Club. Coach Orr says 16 teams from all over West Tennessee will attend and it would be an excellent opportunity for community members to show their support and help cheer on the Tomcats.
