Haywood County GEAR UP TN took a group of junior and senior students from Mrs. Julie Davis’s marketing and event planning classes at Haywood High on a job site tour of Bass Pro at the Pyramid on November 7. The Events Planning Manager for Bass Pro, Milton Howery, met the group. Mr. Howery talked to the students about his educational and work background and then took the students on a “behind the scenes” tour of Bass Pro to see the Executive Board Room, the hotel, banquet rooms and other rooms the general public wouldn’t typically view on a visit to Bass Pro. The students learned about the various responsibilities and the rewards of being an event planner. This was the second group of students GEAR UP has taken to the Pyramid. Last summer’s tour was the first job site visit to the business from a group of students.
