Anderson students celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday

001

Dr. Seuss’s Read Across America, in honor/memory of his birthday, is a very big day for students at Anderson. We begin the day eating green eggs and ham for breakfast. We then begin a rotation of fun learning activities that include making oobeleck, making “Cat in the Hat” hats with rhyming words on them, playing rhyming word Bingo, graphed (and ate) goldfish, wrote sentences about Dr. Seuss, and every class enjoyed having a visitor come and read to their class! We had “The Cat in the Hat” and the “Lorax” at our school, too! Mr. Jim and Miss Cindy both got a pie in their faces at the Pep Rally because all the students read over 1,400 books!! Their goal had been to read over 1,000 books. Aren’t they some super smart kiddos??
