HES Collects Food For The Backpack Project
Students at Haywood Elementary have been very busy! Ms. Paricia Gaietto, their music teacher, invited the whole school to participate in a canned food drive. They decided to give the food to the children who receive “Backpack” food bags each Friday. There are 143 children who receive these bags each week. The students at Haywood Elementary have brought in 2,041 cans so far! After they are shared with the children, Ms. Gaietto would like for the remainder of the cans to go the Backpack Food Program to be given out as needed during the rest of this year. What a wonderful way to learn about sharing and the joy of helping others. And would you look at that tree? What a haul!! Way to go, Haywood Elementary!
