Two Tomcats sign to play college football
Above: Two Haywood High School Tomcats signed papers the first week of February to play college football.
Equavious Barbee signed to play with the Tusculum College Pioneers in Greeneville, Tennessee. Equavious played four years at HHS in the wide receiver and cornerback positions. He will play cornerback for Tusculum. He is in the Distinguished Scholars program at HHS and plans to enter into the pre-dentistry program at Tusculum. His mother, Erma Hopper, was present for the signing.
Devonte Briley will play for Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee. Devonte is also a four-year player for HHS. He has played linebacker, safety and tight end for the Tomcats. Present for the signing was his mother, Felecia Dixon.
