HMS students enjoy Honor Roll trip
On Friday, January 24, the first honor roll students of Haywood Middle School enjoyed a celebratory lunch at Sparky’s Pizzeria in Jackson. The lunch was sponsored by First South Bank. Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager Della Ligon addressed the students before their departure. Mrs. Ligon also gave each student a vintage $2 bill and encouraged them to bring their parents and the $2 bill to her office to open a savings account. Mrs. Ligon informed the students that upon opening a savings account, $10 will be credited to the account and she stressed the importance of having a savings account and learning about money management.
Principal Yvette Blue states, “We are very thankful to have the support of First South Bank and Mrs. Della Ligon, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with First South Bank.”
