Academic Pep Rally
On January 16th the East Side gym was filled with family and friends as students lead a pep rally recognizing fellow classmates for their achievements this year. Students who have been on the Principal’s List, or first or second Honor Roll this year, had their names called as they lined up for recognition of their efforts.
The newly introduced mascot, Wacky the Wildcat, handed out awards given to individual class rooms in the areas of: Reading, Math, Social Studies, STEAM, Art and Character.
Each classroom then recognized a student who tended to go above and beyond what is expected and required of them. These students exemplify, not only the schools strife for excellence, but a genuine respect for fellow students as well as teachers. They are willing to listen, apply and help in the classroom. The character award winners had their names put into a drawing where Derrick Jones’ name was pulled as the winner of a new bike!
