Haywood Elementary’s 3rd grade students have been learning about natural hazards in their science classes.  This month they were able to “buy” supplies and build their own tornado safe shelter models. 

Part of the project was to see if their shelter stood the high wind test of a hair dryer!

The students were so excited and enjoyed learning all about powerful storms.
