Ms. Nicole Johnson’s fifth-grade class at East Side Intermediate School had the opportunity to tour the exhibits at the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center on Monday, January 12. The students’ visit will be included in a program called “Tennessee’s Black Heritage” in February airing on WKRN-TV in Nashville. They were happy to be joined by Mayor Rawls and hosted by Center Director Sonia Outlaw-Clark. The students were also treated to lunch at Brownsville Dairy Queen prior to their tour, courtesy of the Friends of the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center. The principals at East Side would like to extend their sincerest thanks to Mrs. Sonia Outlaw-Clark for granting us this unique opportunity.
