Ernie Jackson named head Tomcat football coach

Superintendent Teresa Russell has named Ernie Jackson as the Head Football Coach for the Haywood High School Tomcats. Coach Jackson will take leadership of the Tomcat football team immediately.
Coach Jackson has served Haywood County Schools as a physical education teacher and coach at East Side Elementary, Sunny Hill School, and Haywood Middle School. Recently, he has had a successful tenure as the head coach of the Haywood Middle School Warriors. Coach Jackson has taught for 11 years with six years in Haywood County Schools. Coach Jackson and his wife, Ashley, have three sons.
In her announcement, Mrs. Russell stated, “It is with great excitement that I announce the new HHS Tomcat Football Coach. Coach Ernie Jackson will be taking on this position! I am so thrilled about the future of the Tomcats and what Coach Jackson has to bring to this program. This is an exciting time for Haywood County Schools and for the HHS Tomcats!”
