Health students help with ES screenings
Fourth-grade students recently completed their health screenings, performed by Coordinated School Health, school nurses, and the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA). This is the third year HOSA has performed health screenings on HCS students. Students receive hearing, vision, height, weight, BMI, and blood pressure screening. Parents are then notified if there is a possible problem in any of those areas. Students are screened every other year and the results are sent to the State Department of Coordinated School Health for state analysis.
“We are very appreciative of the great relationship between School Health Services and the Health Sciences classes in the Career and Tech Department at HHS,” said Cindy Smith, School Health Coordinator.
