HES Enjoys Local Farmer’s Market
With the help of the University of Tennessee Extension Service, Haywood Elementary students and staff enjoyed the “fruits” of the labor of some local farmers and other participants when they set up a “Farmer’s Market” at the school recently. They offered oranges, potatoes, carrots, kiwi, plums, tomatoes, field peas and okra. Students learned about fresh vegetables and fruits and received samples of each from the farmers and other participants. Some are pictured holding their favorites.
