HHS Choirs Present Christmas Spectacular

Under the direction of Dr. Melinda M. Goedecke, members of the Haywood High School choirs captured the hearts of the audience as they presented a delightful variety of Christmas music at their Christmas Spectacular on Thursday, December 10, in the Ann Marks Theatre at College Hill. A combined 88 members of the Show Choir, the Girls Chorus, and the Concert Choir joined together to make this presentation truly “spectacular.”

Among the favorite Christmas songs the students sang were “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow,” “Believe,” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” The choirs even added a few movie songs, “Where Are You Christmas?” from The Grinch and “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music to the collection of songs.

On a more reverent note, choir members presented “Mary Did You Know,” “Do You Know What I Hear,” “Silent Night,” and “Mary Had a Baby,” in the next segment.

The finale concluded with dance and song to “Yule Be Rockin.”
