HHS Distinguished Scholars honored
The Haywood High School Class of 2016 Distinguished Scholar Recognition Banquet was held Tuesday, April 26, in the HHS cafeteria. Recognized students and their parents joined HHS administrators, faculty and staff for the celebration of their academic achievements. Conducting the program were HHS Principal Dr. Jerry Pyron, Mrs. Julie Dahlhauser, HHS Librarian, and Mrs. Linda Baxter and Ms. Glynn Bridgewater, both teachers at HHS. Class of 2016 Secretary Audrey Davis gave the opening remarks.
The 2016 Distinguished Scholar Candidates are Shelby Baggett, Daniel Vaughn Bradford, Whitney Campbell, Martin Chavez, Chardé Cherry, Joshua Coburn, Jimmie Covington, Mary Catherine Currie, Audrey Davis, Marshada DeBerry, Quinton Douglas, Madeline Elrod, Erica Marie Gavin, Kyreka Gayden, Katie Harston, Alearyn Haynes, Kezira Horton, Alecia L. Johnson, Kristopher Johnson, Haynes Kirby, Charity McGhee, Dustin Milton, Silvestre Morales, Sky Navarro, Alex T. Perkins, Tina Phan, Alexandria M. Pugh, Madison Ross, Anne Marie Sceals, McKenzie Scott, Dylan Simmons, Madison Taylor Smith, Hannah Stanley, Timia Tharpe, Jaleel Turner, Ashley Vaughn, and Asia J. White.
The first Honor Roll students for the first, second and third quarters of the 2015-16 school term were also recognized.
