HHS FCCLA members excel at State competition
FCCLA winning members who represented Haywood High so well at the state contest were Justice Brown, Sabrina Snipes, Symphony Timberlake, Jada Brooks, Averyon Pettigrew and Aisha Shaw.
Haywood High School FCCLA members returned victoriously from their state leadership conference and competition, which was held at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville April 1-4. Aisha Shaw placed number one in the state with a perfect score and a gold medal in the Creed, Occupational category. Justice Brown also received a gold medal and 2nd place in the state in the Creed, Senior category. Averyon Pettigrew and Sabrina Snipes placed in the Top Ten in the state with a silver medal in the Focus on Children, Senior event. Symphony Timberlake placed second in the state with a silver medal in the National Programs in Action, Senior event. She will advance to the National STAR Event competition in July. Mrs. Denita Jarratt, Mrs. Sarah Haynes and Mrs. Vickie Noles are sponsors for the group. “We would like to congratulate these students, as well as Jada Brooks who served as a room consultant and voting delegate, for all of their hard work and their exceptional behavior on the trip,” Mrs. Jarratt said on behalf of the sponsors.
