HHS Homecoming 2017
Haywood High School Homecoming 2017 was held on Friday, September 29, beginning with students participating in decorating the halls and special days at school all week, an outstanding parade, tailgating at the football stadium, the crowning of Homecoming Queen and ending with a great win for the Tomcats against Ripley, 42-0. Here are the results of class competitions: Hall Decorations: winners – Sophomores, 2nd place – Freshman, 3rd place – Juniors, 4th place – Seniors; Powder Puff game winners – Seniors; Pep Rally winners – Juniors; and Parade Floats – winners – Freshmen, 2nd place – Juniors, 3rd place – Sophomores, and 4th place – Seniors.
During halftime, Mike Coburn, announcer for the Tomcats, presented the Class Representatives, Homecoming Royalty and the Queen.
Representatives were Freshman – Elizabeth Kirby and Mykia Montgomery, Sophomore – Valentcia Dancy and Reyce Moore, Junior – Cadaja Morton and Jocelyn Brooks, and Senior – Lanisha Bynum and Ellie Haynes.
Members of the Royalty were Gracie Glaser, Skye Green, McKenna Barken, Temple Taylor, Diamond Powell and Ahmadia Hines. Selected as winners were second runner-up Gracie Glaser, Queen Ahmadia Hines, and first runner-up Diamond Powell.
