HHS students are “HEE HAW”

In the style of the old country variety show, HEE HAW, Haywood High Show Choir members presented slap-stick jokes and country tunes October 29 and 30 to two large crowds of family and friends in the College Hill Theater each day. Individuals and groups sang popular and classic country songs and the audiences enjoyed renditions of “Jesus Take the Wheel,” “The Climb,” “Chicken Fried,” “Live Like You Were Dying,” “It Ain’t Me Babe,” “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” “These Boots Were Made for Walking,” “God Bless the Broken Road,” “Big Green Tractor,” “My Church,” and “Mountain Music.” The show was a fundraiser for the Show Choir that be traveling to a national competition in California in the spring. The 55-member choir is under the direction of Dr. Melinda Goedecke, who is the director of several choirs at HHS.
