Middle school chess club creates legacy

Haywood Middle School’s after-school chess club joined forces with STEAM students to design, create and produce an official HMS chess board and pieces. Using Tinkercad and the school’s new 3-dimensional printer, Anthony Taylor (pictured left), Cindy Moore (middle) and Caleb Morris (right), under the guidance of STEAM teacher Cindy Moore, created the purple and white masterpiece that will be used and enjoyed for years to come, making their mark on HMS chess history.
