Nursing Education Students Help With Backpack Food Program
Nursing education students, under the direction of Mrs. Julie Taylor in the Career and Technical Division of Haywood High School, have teamed up once again to help Coordinated School Health with the Backpack Food Program this year. Each week they will give their time to help unload the food from the grocery, unpack the boxes, fill and count the bags, load them into the delivery tubs, and load them into the car. With 129 students (so far) receiving food bags each week this year, this is quite an undertaking for these considerate folks to participate in. Students who are referred by their teachers will receive these bags to give them some nourishing food for the weekend. Here they are helping with one week’s packing!
