Retired Teachers enjoy holiday luncheon
Members of the Haywood County Schools Retired Teachers organization gathered at Haywood High School in the C & T Commons for their annual holiday luncheon on December 7. Members brought stuffed animals, which were donated to the Haywood County Ambulance Authority and the Brownsville Police Department to distribute to children who need special attention in case of an accident or crime.
Providing entertainment was the HHS Show Choir under the direction of Dr. Melinda Goedecke. They sang selected holiday songs such as “Do you Hear What I Hear?” and “Mary Did You Know?” Soloists for the program were Hunter Smothers, Ellie Haynes, Lillie Pittman, and Allison Wright.
Preparing lunch were some members of the HHS Culinary Arts class under the direction of Instructor Kim Marble. Helping with the cooking and preparations were Daniel Arellanes, Tia Jones, Destiny McFarland, Quandarius White, Alex Williams, LeJerica Young, Jakalia Taylor, Tazia McClellan, Chris Kent, Raven Harville, Beatrice Gavin and Eve Carter.
