Taylor Call crowned HHS Homecoming Queen
Taylor Call, daughter of Chris and Tracey Lea and Chris and Tabitha Call, was crowned Queen during the Haywood High School Homecoming ceremonies Friday, October 11. Selected as first maid was Idalias Flagg, daughter of Felix and Monica Flagg, and second maid was Jamaica Bond, daughter of Mary Priddy. Also selected to the Homecoming Court were Ricarnicea Johnson, Cassidy Hendrix and Abbey Morris.
Each HHS class selected two students, who were recognized as class representatives: Senior – Justice Brown and Gabby Glaser, Junior – Dannon Eubanks and Destiny Williams, Sophomore – Kaila Crew and Mary Catherine Currie, and Freshman – Kamyia Burrell and Mikayla Flagg.
In other Homecoming competitions, the Senior Class won first place in the float competition, in the hall-decorating competition and the spirit competition at the pep rally. The Freshman Class came in second in the float contest. And of course, the Tomcats capped the celebration with a win over the Douglas Red Devils, 49-20. The team plays Jackson-Central Merry on October 18.
