The home side of the John B. Hooper Memorial Stadium held a large crowd Tuesday night, August 18, when the Haywood High School Tomcats and Haywood Middle School Warriors held their annual “Meet and Greet” event. Both football teams, the cheerleaders and the HHS Tomcat Band were introduced, as well as both coaching staffs, administrators from both schools and other dignitaries, as Greg Vanstory, known as the “Voice of the Tomcats” emceed the event. The Warriors began their season on August 20 winning over North Parkway. The HHS Tomcats had a bye, but will play Jackson Central-Merry on August 28.
