Tomcats feel the spirit as they begin the 2013 season
Friday, August 16, was the debut of the 2013 Haywood High School Tomcats, and the Tomcat spirit was in the air. Seniors who have been nicknamed “The Foundation” arrived at school via a limo, provided by Lisa Carlton at First State Bank. The entire Tomcat family then walked into school together in their “every Friday” attire of a shirt and tie that they will wear during school. Later that evening the team played Munford to a 14-14 tie in the Jamboree. This Friday, August 23, the Tomcats host Booker T. Washington of Memphis with kickoff at 7 p.m. on the L. Z. Hurley Memorial Field. “Come out and bring that Tomcat spirit,” Coach Ernie Jackson said.
