Mr. Varnado has 25 years of teaching experience with 21 of them being with Haywood County Schools. At this time, he is the director of the Aspire program at Sunny Hill for students who are behind in their academics but desire to graduate. Through the use of technology and a web-based learning program students are succeeding under his tutelage. Coaching and basketball are among his interests and he supports our students and his community by helping to host basketball camps and participating in Relay for Life. To increase parent involvement and support, Mr. Varnado conferences with parents in meetings or by phone regarding academics or behavior intervention plans. His personal philosophy is to never give up on students. He is a true advocate for his students and their success.
