From HCS Superintendent Amie Marsh:
Haywood County Schools would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Michael family. We lost a vibrant member of our Tomcat community and words cannot express the sadness and loss we are all feeling.
We want the HCS school community to know that we will be working closely with local authorities throughout the day tomorrow to ensure a safe and supportive school environment when students return to campus Monday. A safe and secure school environment is our number one priority as we navigate this tragic event.
