Several Haywood County Schools entered the annual Scarecrow Contest and won awards for their creativity.  The Haywood County School Bus 77, made by the District Office, won the Most Creative Award. Also receiving recognition were the Anderson Early Childhood Center entry, that won second place in the child category; Elizabeth Lovelace’s first-grade class’s entry from Haywood Elementary that won third place in the child category; and an East Side Elementary entry that won second place, honorable mention. Also submitting entries were Mrs. Sammons’ class at East Side, Sunny Hill Elementary School and Haywood Junior High School.
