HES recognizes young leaders
The Leader in Me is a program within Haywood County Schools that teaches seven key leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.
As part of the Leader in Me, students at Haywood Elementary School are being recognized by their teachers for demonstrating any one of these seven habits. Students receive their “shout-outs” in classroom celebrations every Friday.
Friday, August 27, the first “shout-outs” for the 2021-2022 school year were awarded to deserving first and second graders. Cherish Currie (pictured above), a first-grader in Miss Amanda Stanley’s class, received her shout-out for exemplifying habit #1 – being proactive; she was commended for working hard and always completing her assignments. Miss Maggie Howell honored second-grader Jace Brown (pictured below) for his exceptional leadership skills.
