HHS CNA Students Team Up With The Haywood County Health Department

Haywood High School students enrolled in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program recently volunteered their help with the Haywood County Health Department’s “Flu Pod.”

Students aspiring to begin their career as a CNA must enroll in a 75-hour training program that consists of lectures as well as practical training.  It’s this training that allowed students the opportunity to assist the nurses with vaccinations during the event.

Not only did they receive the hand’s on training but they were also allowed the privilege of a personal tour with paramedics and EMTs in a fully loaded ambulance where they were allowed to ask questions and get a real feel for their jobs.
