Schools celebrate nurses on National School Nurse Day
On May 7, Haywood County Schools recognized our school nurses by celebrating National School Nurse Day as a way to celebrate the role of school nurses in the educational setting. School Nurses Gail Steele and Deborah Woods provide a wide variety of services to insure that our students are healthy and that the schools have healthy learning environments. They also provide professional development for all teachers and staff, who do their best to support and maintain these healthy practices. Parents have peace of mind knowing that their children, who have special health needs like asthma, diabetes, food allergies, and many other health related issues, are well taken care of during the day and that there is plenty of communication between the teacher, the school, and the parents. These ladies do their best to keep all students healthy because healthier students are better learners! Thanks for all you do, Miss Gail and Miss Deborah!
