Students “Walk”
As part of Public Health Week in Tennessee, schools across the state were asked to “Walk to School” on April 5. Since it is impossible for so many of our students to walk to school, we decided to have a “Walk AT School” day. Students at Anderson, Haywood Elementary, and East Side were asked to walk a lap around their walking tracks at the beginning of recess. Students at Haywood Middle School already walk every Tuesday and Thursday during their lunch shift with their “Warrior Walks.” Students and teachers enjoyed walking in the sunshine. “I think everyone loves being part of a healthier Tennessee,” said Coordinated School Health Coordinator Cindy Smith.
