Sunny Hill Read-A-Thon a success
Sunny Hill Elementary held its first SHS Read-a-Thon on Friday, March 2, as part of the National Read Across America Day to motivate students to enjoy reading and celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Mystery readers read to students each afternoon over the intercom and students had a chance to win prizes by guessing the identity of the mystery readers. Students participated in a variety of reading activities, such as reading geometry puzzles, silent reading, creating and sharing posters, participating in vocabulary games, and eating truffula tree cupcakes similar to the trees in the book, The Lorax.
