The Book Fair Comes to East Side!
Who doesn’t love a book fair? Who doesn’t remember the excitement of the book fair coming into their school?
With the first issue of the Scholastic in 1920, so began the seed that grew into an organization that aids in getting books into thousands of schools and millions of homes both domestically and internationally.
Scholastic has a long history of giving back to the community as it fulfills its mission to Open a World of Possible for all children by helping them to discover the joy of becoming lifelong readers.
This fall’s fair was themed Arctic Adventure and the children of East Side enjoyed the polar bear and penguins adorning the book fair room as they were able to choose their favorite books. Many spent their savings and others quickly became more willing to complete those chores that came with a monetary reward so they could shop for themselves.
