A few representatives from the East Side Intermediate School Student Lighthouse Team shared with a few of the county commissioners their thoughts on The Leader In Me model, and, according to Principal Sandra Humphreys, they did an outstanding job!

East Side Intermediate School was selected as the inaugural school in the Haywood County School District to implement this model. The Leader in Me model centers around Dr. Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, which are: Habit #1: Be Proactive, Habit #2: Begin with the End in Mind, Habit #3: Put First Things First, Habit #4: Think Win-Win, Habit #5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood, Habit #6: Synergize, and Habit #7: Sharpen the Saw.
