Pamela Pickens – East Side Intermediate Teacher Of The Year & District Level 5-8

Ms. Pamela Pickens is currently serving at East Side Intermediate School as a Special Education fifth-grade teacher. She has 9.5 years of teaching experience, all of which have been in public education in Haywood County. She has served in various rising leadership roles such as being a mentor for new and novice teachers and the lead teacher for the Special Education Department at East Side Intermediate School. Ms. Pickens has led the Special Education Parental Involvement Night as well as participated in the curriculum fair, CCSS Math night, and Literacy Night at East Side Intermediate School.

“I am a firm believer that all students can learn, and it is our charge as teachers to reach them at their ability level and strengthen the foundation,” Ms. Pickens said.
