Nursing students can be job ready and college bound

Members of the HHS Nursing Education class are Anna Reid, Leteya Prewitt, Harley Baggett, Anesha Hines, Tressa Perez, Brittany Tucker, Jazsmine Anderson, Emily Siler, Maranda Dempsey, Rachel Morris and Harley Hendrix.

These students are enrolled in the Nursing Education class, the third in the Health Science Technology and Education pathway in the Career and Tech Department at Haywood High School. They have completed the introductory Health Science Education and Anatomy and Physiology classes. This year’s class consists of 18 units of study dealing with direct bedside nursing care. Clinical experience will consist of supervised practice in the nursing home as well as demonstrations in the classroom. Students can be registered by the Tennessee Department of Health after the completion of the course, 100 hours clinical and theory and passing a state test (both written and skills), and they will be job ready and college bound.
