Carol Lynn Holt, the music teacher at East Side Elementary, was selected by her peers as the school’s Teacher of the Year. She has been teaching music to third and fourth graders for five years. She is a graduate of Union University and holds a Bachelor’s of Music Education degree. She also teaches private piano lessons.

Mrs. Holt is a member of the American College of Musicians and the Music Teachers National Association. She is serving on the Superintendent’s Instructional Leadership Council this year and has led in-service for music faculty on using SPI’s in lesson plans.

She has served as Children’s Choir Director for Trinity Christian Academy and several churches where she has also directed the students in musicals. She also served as Music Director for Community Theater. As a leader in her community, Mrs. Holt has been the founder of several booster clubs and served as president of JCM’s High School PTO.
