Classes in the Career and Technical Division of Haywood High School have Advisory Committees that contribute to the instructional programs in many ways. On November 3, volunteer members of these committees met with the teachers to discuss their programs and some of the ways the committee members can participate.

Among a number of opportunities, these committees can assist with task inventories to determine job skills needed in the local labor market; they can analyze course content and sequence; suggest program priorities; identify new technology and new developments; participate in job training and on-the-job experiences; evaluate relevance and effectiveness of the vocational education programs to meet the community needs; assist in developing, implementing and revising annual and long-range plans; and review and evaluate facilities and equipment.

The programs in the HHS Career and Technical Division are Agriculture, Health Sciences, Human Services, Culinary Arts, Advanced Manufacturing, Marketing, Informational Technology, and Criminal Justice.

Pam Diebold is the Director for the Career and Technical Division.
