Anderson students learn the letter “U”
Kindergarten students at Anderson, while studying the letter U, created arrows out of cheese as part of their “healthy snack” lesson that week. Each week students make or eat a healthy food that somehow goes with the letter they are learning. Can you think of a food that begins with U? Neither could we, so we made arrows pointing UP! Teachers also read the content in that food and what part of the body it helps. Coordinated School Health sponsored this activity in an effort to increase nutrition education and promote eating more fruits and vegetables. Most of the time a story involving the letter of the week is read during this activity, to promote literacy.
