Anderson students read more than 40,000 books!
Anderson Early Childhood Center students had a fun reward for collectively reading more than 40,000 books this school year. Pre-K and kindergarten students each received a piece of duct tape, which they used to duct tape their principal, Mr. Charles Byrum, to a wall.
Mr. Byrum wanted to reward his more than 400 students for their hard work of reaching an impressive reading goal. Teachers also got to stick a piece of tape for every month of perfect attendance. According to the principal, the school is willing to do anything to support the students and promote reading and help the families and parents to become more engaged. He said they will set a new goal for the incoming students next year.
