Connie Allen – Anderson Teacher Of The Year
Ms. Connie Allen serves at Anderson Early Childhood Center as a Special Education PK/K teacher. She has 14 years’ teaching experience, all of which have been in public education in Haywood County. One best practice strategy that Ms. Allen uses in her classroom is the “hands-on” approach to promote student achievement. Outside of work, Ms. Allen carries her passion as an educator to her community and church where she teaches Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and during the summer she offers private tutoring sessions. Also as a community worker, Ms. Allen has served as the president of PTA for Head Start at College Hill. To summarize her passion she said, “I pride myself on teaching each child, not the disability.”
